Interstate 5 in
Washington, Mile Marker 110
Southbound near
Lacy WA.
This Driver reports: "SB
I-5 past Dupont near Mounts Road. Bears can park out of sight on the long
ramp from Dupont on to SB I-5. After you pass
Mounts Road you travel downhill into the Nisqually Delta. Bears take
advantage of two emergency parking areas as you head south (one on each side
of the road). This trap area ends by the bridge at the bottom of the hill.
The final SB trap starts at the Hawks Prairie exit and extends down to
the Martin Way exit. There is a large, forested center divide through this
section, offering several hiding places, but the bear's favorite is within a
quarter mile of the Martin Way exit as SB I-5 starts to turn to the left."
There are 7 specific "Situations" where you can find bears because
they are creatures of habit.
