Interstate 16 in
Georgia, Mile Marker
33 to 58, exits 10 to 15 near Dublin GA.
This Driver reports: "The
Laurens County Sheriff Department Interstate Criminal Enforcement
(ICE) Team Patrols from mile marker 33 to 65. When you hit HWY. 19
overpass (mile marker 54) the speed limit drops from 70 to 50. Then a mile
east of there it rises to 60 mph. It stays at 60 mph. until you hit the
Truetlen Line at about the mile marker 65. There are 4 ICE Deputies in 2
shifts. They work every day of the week. It's not like this will slow you
down, but its just to let you know! We strive to get speeders down here."
Driver Bob reports: "I
noticed you have this listed as being in Laurens county. Bleckley County
Sheriff's Office work this area as it is in their county. Their deputy's will
bust high speeders but are fair. I've seen them out helping broke down
motorist also. Hope you put in the good as well as bad."
Driver John reports: "There
is a deputy who works out there and mm33 all hours of the day and night. He
will pop up for a while then be gone, but he is known to double back. Likes
to sit on the east side of a hill at mm33. He will help out the truckers and
I've heard them tell him of 4 wheelers speeding. They call him "Maineack" and
is usually on 19."
Driver Big Jim reports: "It's
true!!! He gave me a break, 13 over, the other night, even told me about this
sight. He also told me he has been getting a lot of help from the truckers
out there. Said he takes dope off this road about every week. He's a good
guy so lets be fair with him and help him out when we can. We need more like
him."
There are 7 specific "Situations" where you can find bears because
